Tilde: “Still Life”
WOO YOUNG CHOI
HYPHEN, Kwanhoon Gallery
TILDE project begins from the belief that everything starts from a meeting. We reach our personal or communal goals with the connections of time, people, space, and ability.
TILDE (~) is an intermediate notation for connecting subjects in English. The project mixes modernity into an old space and is carried out by the curiosity of what would come out when an old space, a modern artist, and a director come together.
We invited Woo Young Choi who presented “Still Life”. The artist studied Korean Art and is expected to earn Ph.D in the study from Sookmyung Women’s University in Korea. The artist explores the emptiness in the relationship of self, others, and the crowd through “black dot” figure’s mundane postures. This exhibition was presented at Kwanhoon gallery from Sept. 13th to Oct. 2nd.
